Sun Apr 1320:09Tyrese Maxey Progressing In Recovery
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (finger) is "progressing well." However, the 24-year-old indicated he'll need "about another month" before resuming basketball drills. He had a quality 2024-25 campaign, averaging a career-high 26.3 points with 6.1 assists. His three-point shooting took a dip. Yet, Maxey made up for it by increasing his contributions on the defensive end by amassing nearly two steals per contest. Unfortunately, he was limited to 52 games, mostly due to a finger injury that prematurely ended his season in March. Without question, Maxey is one of the best players in the NBA. But it remains to be seen if he can stay as productive and involved offensively if Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (adductor, knee) can collectively remain on the floor.

Following Tuesday's action, Philadelphia will have six more games scheduled, starting with Thursday's meeting with the Milwaukee Bucks. Jared Butler has started most games at point guard in recent weeks, although he could face extra competition for playing time on Tuesday, as Kyle Lowry (hip) has been upgraded to questionable.

Wed Mar 2618:00Tyrese Maxey Progressing
According to Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse, Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (finger) has been working out. He's currently wearing a splint on his injured right finger, with the ailment keeping him off the floor for Philadelphia's previous 12 games. Despite the 76ers' disastrous year, Maxey has thrived, averaging a career-high 26.3 points with 3.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.8 steals. Nurse added he hopes Maxey will play in Philly's "final games" of the 2024-25 campaign. However, fantasy managers may not see him back in the lineup until next season. In the meantime, Jared Butler should continue to fill in at the one, with Quentin Grimes anticipated to benefit the most on the scoring end.

Fri Mar 1412:57Tyrese Maxey Remains Sidelined On Friday
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (back/finger) will remain sidelined on Friday as he deals with both a lower back and a finger sprain. He's likely to miss more than just the contest against the Indiana Pacers as the Sixers seem to be embracing the tanking efforts to keep their pick in the upcoming draft. For fantasy managers heading into the playoffs, Quentin Grimes (questionable - illness) has been a huge streaming option. If he doesn't play either, Jared Butler and Jeff Dowtin Jr. could both serve as deeper streamers. Butler gets plenty of on-ball opportunities and posted nine points, eight assists, six rebounds, and two steals in their last game. Dowtin, on the other hand, registered 20 points (9-14 FG), three assists, two rebounds, and two steals.

He has registered 10.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 5.0 assists in 22.4 minutes since Maxey exited the lineup. Jeff Dowtin Jr. also receives more playing opportunities, but he has not been a consistent source for fantasy value.

Wed Mar 520:02Tyrese Maxey Will Not Play Thursday Against Boston
76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (back) is listed as out for his team's trip to Boston on Thursday night. This will be Maxey's second straight absence after also missing Tuesday's game with what the team is calling a "lower back sprain." While they have not put a timetable on his return, it sounds like an injury that could keep him out for a while. In his absence, Quentin Grimes has become the go-to option in Philly's backcourt. He had a massive 44-point game to start the month of March, and on Tuesday without Maxey, he had 30 points in a loss to the Timberwolves. Facing the Celtics is a tough matchup, but Grimes will be busy enough to be a strong streaming and DFS option on Thursday.

If both men are out, Paul George, Quentin Grimes, and Kelly Oubre Jr. could each see a bump in scoring opportunities.

Joel Embiid (knee) is also expected to play against the Celtics, marking just the 14th time that Maxey, Embiid, and Paul George are all available to suit up for the 76ers. Tue Feb 1822:34Tyrese Maxey A Full Participant In Tuesday's Practice
According to Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse, guard Tyrese Maxey (knee) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice. The 24-year-old had five points, five boards, and four turnovers in the loss to the Raptors before the All-Star break. However, he was ruled out the following night against Brooklyn because of a knee issue. With that in mind, fantasy managers should expect to see Maxey back on the floor when the Sixers play the Celtics on Thursday evening. But if he can't suit up, Quentin Grimes, coming off a 30-point effort versus the Nets, should continue to benefit.

Wed Feb 1218:17Tyrese Maxey Will Miss Wednesday's Game
Philadelphia 76ers point guard Tyrese Maxey (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's meeting with the Brooklyn Nets. Philadelphia's leading scorer was added to the injury report just a couple of hours before tip-off with a questionable tag, and he has now been officially ruled out due to a right knee contusion. Maxey sustained the injury from a knee-on-knee contact on Tuesday against the Toronto Raptors. He struggled badly in the contest, going 1-for-9 from the field to finish with five points. With Kyle Lowry (hip) still out, Jared Butler and Jeff Dowtin Jr. will take care of the ball-handling duties against the Nets.

Wed Jan 1518:02Tyrese Maxey Available On Wednesday Night
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (hand) will play on Wednesday versus the Knicks. The 24-year-old didn't play in Tuesday's loss to OKC, allowing Reggie Jackson to start. However, Jeff Dowtin Jr. stole the show after ending the night with 18 points, five boards, two steals, and one block. With that said, Downtin's fantasy outlook isn't as bright with Maxey back in the equation. It will be even less favorable if Paul George (ankle) suits up.

Wed Jan 1517:34Tyrese Maxey In Danger Of Missing Another Game
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (hand) is questionable for Wednesday's meeting with the Knicks. Head coach Nick Nurse is "hopeful" the 24-year-old will play on Wednesday, and he'll work out ahead of the contest to determine if he can go. But Joel Embiid (foot) is already ruled out, and Paul George (ankle) is questionable, so the team could be short-handed once again. If Maxey doesn't suit up, Reggie Jackson could draw another start. However, Jeff Dowtin Jr. should be the streaming option of choice for fantasy managers, especially after he had 18 points, five boards, two steals, and one block on Tuesday versus OKC.

Tue Jan 1418:25Tyrese Maxey Out On Tuesday
Philadelphia 76ers point guard Tyrese Maxey (hand) has been ruled out for Tuesday's contest against Oklahoma City. After being a late addition to the injury report, Maxey failed to shake off a hand sprain before the action. With no Kyle Lowry (hip) either for the 76ers, Reggie Jackson should get as many minutes as he can handle at point guard, with Jeff Dowtin Jr. and Eric Gordon potentially also benefiting from Maxey's absence.

The 24-year-old is having a fantastic season, averaging 25.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 2.1 steals in 37.4 minutes per contest. Mon Dec 23 202418:14Tyrese Maxey Officially Available For Monday Night Against Spurs
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (illness) is officially active for Monday night's game against the San Antonio Spurs. Maxey is dealing with an illness but will be able to fight through it. The 24-year-old has been fantastic for the Sixers this season, averaging 25.1 PPG and 5.0 APG while helping to keep Philadelphia somewhat afloat during Joel Embiid's absences with his knee issues. He should have a decent matchup against San Antonio, who's averaging the third most three-pointers to point guards this season. Maxey has made at least four three pointers in each of his last three games with at least 10 attempts per game. Maxey is a must start in all fantasy formats.

Mon Dec 23 202413:49Tyrese Maxey Appears On Injury Report, Considered Probable
Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey (illness) was a later addition to the injury report on Monday but is considered to be probable to face the San Antonio Spurs. Usually, this late of an addition to the report is not a good sign, but with illnesses floating around, it's likely to come down to how Maxey feels leading up to tip-off. If his status takes a turn for the worse, Kyle Lowry, Jeff Dowtin Jr., and even Reggie Jackson could all see some extra playing time. Ricky Council IV (knee) would be the best streaming option if he's upgraded from questionable though.
