Mon Jun 30 | 20:41 | Chris Taylor Still Wearing a Brace |
Los Angeles Angels infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor (hand) is still wearing a brace on his fractured left hand but will accompany the team on their road trip to Atlanta and Toronto this week, according to MLB.com. Taylor was hit by a pitch on June 9 and landed on the 10-day injured list a day later after X-rays showed a fracture. We'll have a better idea on the 34-year-old veteran's timetable for a return when he resumes baseball activities, but in a best-case scenario he might be able to return as a super-utility player for the Halos in late July. The strikeout-happy Taylor was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers this year after hitting .200 with 13 strikeouts in 35 plate appearances. He went 6-for-30 (.200) with a homer, three RBI and 13 K's in his first 10 games with the Angels and is merely an AL-only option for bench depth at this point in his career. |

Tue Jun 10 | 17:13 | Chris Taylor Goes on 10-Day Injured List With Fractured Hand |
The Los Angeles Angels announced on Tuesday that they placed outfielder Chris Taylor (hand) on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left hand and added first baseman/outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr. to the major-league roster in a corresponding move. Taylor was recently scooped up by the Halos after he was cut by the Los Angeles Dodgers, but the 34-year-old veteran only made it 10 games with the Angels before fracturing his hand on a hit-by-pitch in Monday's win over the Athletics. There's no timetable for when Taylor might be able to return, but it's a good bet we won't see him until the second half of the season. He had gone 6-for-30 (.200) with a homer, three RBI and a steal as a utility player for the Angels. Wade could see occasional start in the outfield against right-handed pitching but isn't anything more than a bench stash in AL-only leagues after being cut by the Giants earlier this year. |

Mon May 26 | 18:19 | Chris Taylor Signs With Angels, to Start on Monday |
Free-agent super-utility man Chris Taylor signed an undisclosed deal with the Los Angeles Angels on Monday and will start in center field and bat eighth in his debut with the team for the series opener against the visiting New York Yankees and left-hander Ryan Yarbrough, sources tell The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal. In a corresponding move, the Angels optioned infielder Kyren Paris to Triple-A Salt Lake. The Dodgers released Taylor after 10 seasons with the team, but he quickly has latched on with the crosstown Angels and will start immediately on Memorial Day. The 34-year-old veteran swings and misses a lot and has a high strikeout rate, but he could play regularly with the Halos, making him immediately attractive in AL-only leagues. In 28 games with the Dodgers before being released, Taylor went 7-for-35 (.200) with no homers, two RBI and 13 punchouts. |

Sun May 18 | 13:42 | Dodgers Designate Chris Taylor for Assignment |
The Los Angeles Dodgers have designated infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor for assignment. Taylor has been with the Dodgers since the 2016 campaign. Through the opening part of the 2025 campaign, Taylor has gotten off to a slow start, holding a .200 AVG across 28 games. Taylor tallied just two doubles, with no home runs. He struck out at a high 37.1% rate and did not draw a walk. Last season, Taylor struggled at the plate too, posting a modest .202/.298/.300 slash line with just seven doubles and four round-trippers across 87 contests. Taylor enjoyed his best season during the 2017 campaign, tallying 34 doubles, 21 home runs, and swiping 17 bags. Given his ability to play multiple positions, the 34-year-old could draw interest on waivers. However, given his slow start, he should remain on waivers in all formats. |

Thu Aug 22 2024 | 15:48 | Chris Taylor Activated, Jason Heyward Designated For Assignment |
The Los Angeles Dodgers activated infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor (groin) from the 10-day injured list on Thursday and designated outfielder Jason Heyward for assignment in a corresponding move. Taylor will return to the Dodgers after landing on the shelf in late July with a strained left groin. Both Taylor and Heyward have been pretty dreadful offensively in 2024, but the 33-year-old Taylor at least offers versatility at other positions on the infield. Taylor will return to a .167/.277/.265 slash line with an abysmal .542 OPS, three homers, 15 RBI and three steals. Continue to ignore him in mixed fantasy leagues. Heyward, meanwhile, loses his 40-man roster spot after already seeing his playing time dwindle in right field after Mookie Betts returned from a fractured hand. The 35-year-old has hit .208 (36-for-173) for the Blue this year with six homers, 28 RBI and four steals. |

Thu Jul 25 2024 | 17:20 | Dodgers Officially Place Chris Taylor On Injured List |
The Los Angeles Dodgers officially placed infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor (groin) on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with a left-groin strain and recalled outfielder James Outman from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move. Taylor, who suffered his groin strain while running out a double on Wednesday night against the division-rival San Francisco Giants, will now miss at least the next 10 days. It's been a terrible year for the 33-year-old veteran, and he hasn't been relevant at all in mixed leagues in 2024 while slashing just .167/.277/.265 with a .542 OPS, three home runs and 15 RBI in 162 at-bats for the Blue. Outman will provide additional outfield depth for LA for the time being, while Enrique Hernandez should be the biggest beneficiary for the Dodgers moving forward at third base, at least until Max Muncy (oblique) returns from his lengthy IL stint. |

Thu Jul 25 2024 | 15:07 | Chris Taylor Out Of Action On Thursday |
Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Chris Taylor (groin) is absent from Thursday's starting lineup for the series finale against the visiting division-rival San Francisco Giants. It's no surprise after Taylor tweaked his groin in Wednesday night's contest. Manager Dave Roberts said he expects the 33-year-old infielder/outfielder to go on the 10-day injured list. When an official move comes down, outfielder James Outman is expected to be recalled from the minors to give LA some extra outfield depth. Gavin Lux is back at second base and is hitting fifth on Thursday against Giants right-hander Logan Webb after Taylor got the start at the keystone on Wednesday. Taylor is having one of the worst years of his professional career in 2024 with a .167/.277/.265 slash line with three homers and 15 RBI in 162 at-bats. |

Thu Jul 25 2024 | 12:18 | Chris Taylor Likely To Land On Injured List |
Los Angeles Dodgers utility man Chris Taylor (groin) said he felt his left groin "grab" while rounding first base in Wednesday night's contest against the visiting division-rival San Francisco Giants, and he'll undergo an MRI exam on Thursday. Manager Dave Roberts said the concern is "sort of high," and Taylor will likely land on the injured list. Outfielder James Outman is en route to join the big-league roster. Cavan Biggio entered the game to replace Taylor on Wednesday and could see an uptick in at-bats moving forward with Taylor expected to miss some time. The 33-year-old Taylor is having one of his worst seasons in the big leagues for the Dodgers this year, slashing just .167/.277/.265 with a .542 OPS, three home runs and 15 RBI in limited playing time, so he wasn't a fantasy asset in mixed leagues to begin with. |

Mon Jul 1 2024 | 17:41 | Chris Taylor To Get More Of A "Runway" To Play Third Base |
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he is going to give infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor more of a "runway" to play third base moving forward. Max Muncy (oblique) has been on the injured list since May 17, and Cavan Biggio hasn't been good at all since being acquired in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays, giving Taylor more leeway to get playing time at the hot corner in LA. The 33-year-old veteran utility man is still batting a miserable .164 (18-for-110) on the year with just two homers, 12 RBI and 43 strikeouts in 126 trips to the plate in 47 games in 2024, but he's starting to turn things around of late. In 14 games played in the month of June, Taylor went 10-for-36 (.278) with two homers, a double, a triple, four RBI, two stolen bases and seven runs scored for the Blue. With additional playing time at third, Taylor's fantasy stock is trending up in deeper leagues. |

Fri May 17 2024 | 09:00 | Chris Taylor Off To Brutal Start In 2024 |
After riding the bench for the past nine games, Los Angeles Dodgers utilityman Chris Taylor drew the start on Thursday versus the Cincinnati Reds. Taylor picked up a single in his four at-bats, but he has struggled mightily this season with five hits in 60 at-bats to go along with five RBI and a stolen base. The veteran has had a brutal start to his 2024 season and the Dodgers will have a tough decision to make ahead of Friday's contest versus the Arizona Diamondbacks with outfielder Jason Heyward (back) expected to return. Taylor has helped fantasy managers in the past, but in 2024, the versatile Taylor can be left on the waiver wire in all formats. |

Mon Jan 8 2024 | 20:56 | Chris Taylor Set For Utility Role In 2024 |
The Los Angeles Dodgers' tentative plan in 2024 is to platoon outfielders Jason Heyward and Manuel Margot in right field, with new acquisition Teoscar Hernandez in left field. Meanwhile, the Dodgers plan to get at-bats for Chris Taylor all over the field, including in left. The 33-year-old can also play center field, second base, third base and shortstop when needed. He could still play pretty regularly when others need a day off and against left-handers, but it won't be much different than what he did in 2023, when he started only 82 of 117 games played. Taylor was slightly better than he was in 2022 in terms of production, but he also struck out 32.6 percent of the tie, which was 17th-worst in baseball. Without an everyday role and with so much swing and miss in his game, Taylor will mostly be an asset in cavernous mixed leagues and NL-only formats for his positional versatility. |

Wed Oct 4 2023 | 20:36 | Chris Taylor Expected To Be Ready For NLDS |
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor (knee) took part in the team's intrasquad game on Wednesday, and The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya writes that nobody on the team seem concerned with Taylor's status after the regular season finale on Sunday when he was hit by a pitch on his left knee. Taylor is dealing with a minor knee contusion and is expected to be ready to roll for Game 1 of the National League Division Series this Saturday. Infielder Miguel Rojas (hand, wrist) also took part in the intrasquad game and has been making good progress. The 33-year-old Taylor hit a modest .237 (80-for-338) with 15 home runs, 56 RBI, 16 stolen bases and 51 runs scored in his 117 games for the Blue during the regular season. |

Fri Jul 14 2023 | 19:48 | Dodgers Activate Chris Taylor From Injured List |
The Los Angeles Dodgers activated outfielder/infielder Chris Taylor (knee) from the injured list on Friday. In other moves, the Dodgers added outfielder Jake Marisnick, optioned outfielder Jonny DeLuca and moved right-hander Shelby Miller (neck) to the 60-day injured list to make room for Marisnick on the 40-man roster. Taylor wasn't in the starting lineup on Friday for the first game of the second half of the season, but he could see pretty regular playing time moving forward for the Blue. The 32-year-old veteran has only played in 59 games in 2023 and is hitting .206 (34-for-165) with 11 home runs, six doubles, a triple, 26 RBI, seven stolen bases and 28 runs scored in 182 plate appearances. Taylor's biggest draw in deeper fantasy leagues is his positional versatility. |

Sat Jul 8 2023 | 16:19 | Chris Taylor Starts Rehab Assignment |
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor (knee) began his minor league rehab assignment on Friday. Taylor played five innings in left field on Friday for the Dodgers' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate. This was his first rehab contest since landing on the injured list in mid-June due to right knee soreness. The hope is that Taylor is going to return shortly after the All-Star break. Fantasy managers will have to stay tuned for more information. |

Sat Jul 1 2023 | 19:09 | Chris Taylor Unlikely To Return Before All-Star Break |
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor (knee) isn't expected to return until after the All-Star break. The 32-year-old has been out since mid-June after suffering a bone bruise in his right knee. However, he had been struggling before going down, batting just .206 with 63 strikeouts, so hopefully, the time away will help. In the meantime, he'll continue working his way back, but it's anyone's guess how long he'll be out. |

Sat Jun 24 2023 | 16:47 | Chris Taylor To Miss Sixth Straight Game |
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor (knee) remains out of the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Houston Astros. The 32-year-old was injured while running the bases last Friday. He has not played since then, but the team was hopeful he'd suit up here. The organization hasn't placed him on the injured list, so the assumption is that he'll return soon. In the meantime, Michael Busch will cover third base and bat sixth versus right-hander Ronel Blanco on Saturday. |

Wed Jun 21 2023 | 18:56 | Chris Taylor To Miss Fourth Straight Game |
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor (knee) remains out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. The 32-year-old was injured during Friday's game while running the bases. He will now miss his fourth game in a row because of the issue. It's the same knee that required a cortisone injection earlier this week. The Dodgers haven't placed him on the injured list, so the hope is that Taylor is ready in a few days. In the meantime, Michael Busch will cover third base and bat ninth versus right-hander Shohei Ohtani. |

Tue Jun 20 2023 | 18:11 | Chris Taylor Remains Out On Tuesday |
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder/outfielder Chris Taylor (knee) remains out of the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. Taylor was injured during Friday's game while running the bases. The MRI came back negative, but he remains out of the lineup for the third straight game on Tuesday. It doesn't appear that Taylor is headed to the injured list, so fantasy managers should consider him as day-to-day. Michael Busch will cover third base and bat ninth versus lefty Reid Detmers. |

Sun Jun 18 2023 | 00:46 | Chris Taylor Diagnosed With A Bone Bruise |
Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman/outfielder Chris Taylor (knee) was injured in Friday's game against the Giants while running to first in the second inning. Fortunately, an MRI came back with positive results, revealing he suffered a right knee bruise. The 32-year-old, hitting .207 with 28 runs, 11 homers, 26 RBI, and seven stolen bases this season, was replaced by Michael Busch on Saturday. For now, fantasy managers should consider Taylor as day-to-day, although, suppose there's a chance he lands on the IL. |

Sat Jun 17 2023 | 09:13 | Chris Taylor, David Peralta Both Forced From Fridayâs Contest |
Los Angeles Dodgers super utility player Chris Taylor (hamstring) and outfielder David Peralta (knee) both exited Friday's matchup with the San Francisco Giants. Taylor experienced right knee pain while Peralta suffered a left a hamstring strain, causing their respective departures early in the game. Michael Busch took over at third base for Taylor, going 0-for-4 in relief. James Outman came on for Peralta, going 2-for-4 with two RBI in the process. Peralta was quietly raking lately, hitting a robust .432 with two homers and seven RBI over his last 44 at-bats. Taylor has been playing more while filling in for the sidelined Max Muncy (hamstring) recently, but the Dodgers depth would be further extended under these desperate circumstances. Expect Los Angeles to provide an update on the injuries of the two veterans ahead of Saturday's game. |
