Fri Jun 2718:22Erik Sabrowski Activated from Injured List
The Cleveland Guardians have activated left-handed pitching prospect Erik Sabrowski (elbow) from the 60-day injured list prior to their contest on Friday evening against the St. Louis Cardinals. Sabrowski has been on the injured list since the start of the campaign due to left elbow inflammation. The 27-year-old made his MLB debut last summer and was quite productive during his first taste of MLB action. Through 12 2/3 innings of work, the southpaw did not allow a run and held a strong 0.79 WHIP. During this stint, he struck out 19 batters and posted an 8.5% walk rate. Through 44 career innings at the Triple-A level, Sabrowski has held a modest 4.50 ERA with a 1.68 WHIP. Fantasy managers should expect Sabrowski to be eased into action in a low-leverage role. However, if he enjoys similar success as he did last season, he could eventually have a high-leverage role.

Wed Mar 1219:10Erik Sabrowski Begins Throwing From 60 Feet
Cleveland Guardians left-handed pitching prospect Erik Sabrowski (elbow) began throwing from 60 feet on Wednesday. Earlier in the week, the southpaw received an injection to reduce inflammation in his elbow. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as the team has not provided a definite timetable on his recovery process. However, seeing him already throwing is a positive sign. Last season, the 27-year-old made his MLB debut. He tossed 12 2/3 shutout frames while tallying 19 punchouts and holding a stellar 0.79 WHIP. Earlier in the season, Sabrowski held a 3.51 ERA with a 1.56 WHIP across 48 2/3 innings of relief across Double and Triple-A. At the top level of the minor leagues, the former 14th round selection held a high 4.38 ERA. Given this injury, he will likely open the season at the Triple-A level and push for an early-season return to the majors.
