Kansas City Royals catching prospect Carter Jensen went 2-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI during their contest against Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday evening. However, on Tuesday, he was able to not only post his first multi-hit game at the level, but also his first multi-home run at the level. The No. 3-ranked prospect in the Kansas City system opened the campaign with Double-A and looked quite comfortable during this stint. Through 68 games, the backstop posted a strong .292/.360/.420 line with nine doubles and six long balls. If Jensen can continue to turn the corner at Triple-A, he could reach the majors later in the regular season.

Mon Jun 2323:08Carter Jensen Promoted to Triple-A Omaha
Kansas City Royals catching prospect Carter Jensen has been promoted to Triple-A Omaha. The Royals' third-ranked prospect hit .292 with six home runs and seven steals in 68 games, recording the most hits in the Texas League (80), while his four triples, 37 RBI, and 40 runs scored rank in the top five in the league. The 21-year-old is coming off a 2024 campaign in which he hit 18 home runs with 17 steals in 125 games, so there is power that should continue to grow and above-average speed for his position. Look for him to make a run at a September promotion for his big league debut if he shows well at Triple-A, otherwise, the former third-round draft pick should be in the mix for an MLB debut in 2026.

Tue May 2023:42Carter Jensen Logs Four-Hit Performance on Tuesday
Kansas City Royals catching prospect Carter Jensen went 4-for-5 with a double, a triple, an RBI, and one run scored on Tuesday for Double-A Northwest Arkansas. The Royals' third-ranked prospect has been a streaky hitter so far this season, and with a slugging percentage of .310, the 21-year-old hasn't had many extra-base hits to this point, with Tuesday's being his first hits for extra bases since a home run back on May 3. The former third-round draft pick ranks as the 88th overall prospect in baseball with an ETA of 2026 for a major league debut per MLB.com, and although he has the potential to hit for some power, he doesn't need to be stashed in dynasty leagues at this point. Jensen will also have to compete with Royals' second-ranked prospect Blake Mitchell for starting duties in the coming years if they both remain in Kansas City.
