Thu Mar 1319:54Bailey Horn Traded To Detroit
The Detroit Tigers have acquired left-handed pitcher Bailey Horn from the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for cash considerations. He was later optioned to Triple-A Toledo. The 27-year-old made his MLB debut last season in Boston and logged 18 innings to the tune of a high 6.50 ERA with a 1.78 WHIP. He held a 10:13 BB:K. After allowing a hefty 13 earned runs across his first 10 1/3 innings at Triple-A, Horn turned the corner as he posted a strong 2.15 ERA with a 1.06 WHIP over his final 29 1/3 frames. During this stretch, Horn tallied 35 punchouts and served up 14 free passes. Given his inconsistent performances at Triple-A, fantasy managers should expect Horn to spend most of the season at the level to continue his development. He may return to the majors when the Tigers need additional depth in their bullpen.

Sun Mar 220:05Bailey Horn Optioned To Triple-A
The St. Louis Cardinals optioned left-handed pitcher Bailey Horn to Triple-A. Horn was claimed off waivers by the Cardinals in January but will begin the 2025 campaign in the minor leagues. Horn made his MLB debut last summer with the Boston Red Sox. Across 18 innings of work, the southpaw held a 6.50 ERA and a 1.78 WHIP. He tallied 13 punchouts with a high 11.8 percent walk rate. He also generated a por .316 xBA and a 6.21 xERA. After allowing 13 earned runs across his first 10 1/3 innings at Triple-A, Horn flipped the script as he posted a strong 2.15 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP over his last 29 1/3 innings with the Worcester Red Sox. Given his strong finish at Triple-A, Horn could push for an early return to the major leagues if he continues this strong play in the St. Louis system.

Mon Jan 1308:36Cardinals Claim Bailey Horn Off Waivers
According to John Denton of MLB.com, the St. Louis Cardinals claimed left-handed pitcher Bailey Horn off waivers. Horn was designated for assignment earlier this offseason by the Detroit Tigers when they signed second baseman Gleyber Torres. The Auburn product made his major league debut last season with the Boston Red Sox and posted a 6.50 ERA and a 1.78 WHIP across 18 innings of work. During this stretch, he struck out 13 batters and severed up ten free passes. Across 39 2/3 innings at the Triple-A level last season, Horn held a 4.54 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP. He struck out 50 batters and tallied three saves. Fantasy managers should expect Horn to open the 2025 campaign at the Triple-A level, given his lack of proven success in the major leagues.

Fri Dec 27 202418:38Bailey Horn Designated For Assignment
The Detroit Tigers have designated left-handed pitcher Bailey Horn for assignment earlier on Friday. This opened up a roster spot for second baseman Gleyber Torres who agreed to a one-year contract with Detroit. Horn made his major league debut last summer and held a 6.50 ERA and a 1.78 WHIP across 18 innings of work. He struck out 13 batters and posted a 10.8% walk rate. Across 39 2/3 innings at the Triple-A level last season Horn held a 4.54 ERA and a 1.39 WHIP while tallying 35 punchouts. Horn was claimed off of waivers by Detroit earlier this offseason but will now look for a new suitor ahead of Spring Training. If Horn is able to sign a new contract, he will likely open the 2025 campaign at the Triple-A level given his struggles in the big leagues.
