Sat Jun 2812:01Robert Gasser Nearing Rehab Assignment
Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Robert Gasser (elbow) has been throwing live batting practice and could be in line for a rehab assignment "soon," according to Brewers manager Pat Murphy. Gasser underwent Tommy John surgery in June of 2024, so he'll likely need many rehab appearances to ramp up for big-league action. Gasser made his major league debut with Milwaukee in 2024 and had pitched to a 2.57 ERA and 1.04 WHIP across 28 innings (five starts) before getting injured. Gasser's small-sample strikeout rate of 14% was underwhelming, but he showed significantly better strikeout stuff (28% K rate) across 135 1/3 innings of work at Triple-A in 2023. Milwaukee's #11 ranked prospect per MLB.com, Gasser, could be a valuable late-season addition for fantasy managers if all goes well in his rehab.

Fri Jun 1300:45Robert Gasser to Face Live Hitters This Week
Milwaukee Brewers left-handed pitching prospect Robert Gasser (elbow) is scheduled to face hitters in a live batting practice session in Arizona this week. Gasser, the team's No. 11 prospect per MLB Pipeline, will be facing hitters for the first time this week since having Tommy John surgery last June. The 26-year-old southpaw will be brought along slowly before eventually going on what will be a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment. Even if Gasser doesn't have any setbacks along the way, he probably won't be able to return to the big-league starting rotation until later in the season. He went 2-0 with a 2.57 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 16:1 K:BB in his first five major-league starts last year before getting hurt. For fantasy purposes, he won't really be a valuable contributor until next season, when he should have a great shot to win a rotation spot out of spring training as long as he's healthy.

Tue Feb 1815:35Robert Gasser Expected To Throw Off A Mound In April
Milwaukee Brewers left-hander Robert Gasser (elbow), who had Tommy John surgery on his left elbow last July, has been on a throwing program for the last two months and is backing up 15 feet every three weeks. Gasser is expected to be throwing off a mound in April and hopes to be built up to three to four innings by late July, barring any setbacks in his rehab. It's possible that the 25-year-old southpaw could return to the Brewers sometime in August. Gasser, one of the team's top pitching prospects, made his MLB debut in 2024 and held his own, posting a 2.57 ERA with 16 strikeouts and just one walk in his first five starts before needing Tommy John surgery. Although fantasy managers in single-year formats can ignore Gasser, he's a prime hold candidate in dynasty/keeper leagues as he works toward being a rotation fixture in Milwaukee in 2026.

Thu Feb 1308:36Robert Gasser Placed On 60-Day Injured List, Targeting August Return
According to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Brewers pitching prospect Robert Gasser (elbow) was placed on the 60-day injured list. This transaction opened a roster spot for Tyler Alexander to officially sign with the Brewers. However, Rosiak noted that the sixth-ranked prospect in the Milwaukee system is targeting a late August or early September return. Gasser underwent Tommy John surgery last July but remains on track to return to the mound later in the season. The southpaw was able to make his first five MLB starts before the surgery. Across this brief 28-inning stint, Gasser held a 2.57 ERA with a 1.04 WHIP. The left-hander tallied just 16 punchouts but showed elite command with a near-perfect 0.9 percent walk rate. Gasser could be a candidate to rejoin the rotation in the back half of the season.
