Fri Jun 611:45Max Muncy Hits Three-Run Shot In Victory
Athletics infield prospect Max Muncy went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run during their victory over the Minnesota Twins on Thursday. Muncy would hit the three-run shot in the opening frame off Minnesota right-hander David Festa. This long ball scored Brent Rooker and infielder Jacob Wilson. Muncy was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas earlier this week. Over his first two games back in the majors, Muncy has gone 3-for-9 with four strikeouts. Muncy was able to make his MLB debut in April but posted a modest .176/.211/.279 line through his first 21 contests. With both Miguel Andujar (oblique) and Gio Urshela (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list, fantasy managers should expect the 22-year-old to see stable playing time. He remains a viable depth infielder in deeper 14+ team formats for the time being.

Tue May 623:06Max Muncy Continues To Hit At Triple-A Since Demotion
Athletics infield prospect Max Muncy stayed hot on Tuesday, going 3-for-5 with a walk, two doubles, two RBI, and three runs scored for Triple-A Las Vegas. Since his return to the minors on April 24, the 22-year-old has gone 18-for-47 (.383) with seven doubles and a home run. Luis Urias has taken over at second base and has been hitting well, but Muncy can play third and short as well, so there are multiple paths for him to get back to the majors this season. The A's may let him get some more run at Triple-A before calling him back up, unless an injury forces their hand, but expect to see him back with the big league club later this year. Fantasy managers may want to hold off on adding him until he proves he's worthy of a roster spot, though, after he hit .176 with a 29.6 percent strikeout in his first 21 games in the majors earlier this season.

Thu May 112:35Max Muncy Extends Hitting Streak To Six Games
Athletics infield prospect Max Muncy extended his current hitting streak at Triple-A to six games on Wednesday. In this contest, Muncy went 4-for-5 with a double. Across his first six games at the Triple-A, Muncy has posted an impressive .414/.400/.655 slash line with four doubles and one round-tripper. Muncy was able to break camp with the MLB roster, with Zack Gelof missing time. However, through his first 21 games in the MLB, Muncy posted an underwhelming .176/.211/.279 slash line with just one home run. During this stretch, he generated a low .248 xwOBA with a low 25.5 percent hard-hit rate. Fantasy managers should expect the No. 6-ranked prospect in the system to return to the big leagues later this summer, especially if he continues this steady production. For now, he is worth stashing in deeper AL-only formats.

Fri Apr 2500:07Max Muncy With A Pair Of Doubles Back At Triple-A
Athletics infield prospect Max Muncy went 2-for-6 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored in his first game action back at Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday. The A's optioned Muncy to Triple-A on Wednesday after he began the year 12-for-68 (.176) with a 29.6 percent strikeout rate compared to just a 4.2 percent walk rate in the majors. With a strong showing at Triple-A, the former first-round draft pick will likely get another shot in the big leagues this year, but the 22-year-old isn't a stash candidate at this time.
