Fri May 218:15Blaine Crim Promoted To Major Leagues
The Texas Rangers are promoting infielder Blaine Crim to the major leagues. In a corresponding move, the Rangers are sending infielder Jake Burger to Triple-A Round Rock. Crim has yet to appear in an MLB game in his career. Throughout the early part of the Triple-A campaign, Crim has been swinging a hot bat and is being rewarded with a promotion. Through the first 28 games of the Triple-A regular season, Crim has posted an impressive .313/.365/.565 slash line with six doubles and seven long balls. He has tallied 25 RBI and scored 17 runs. He enjoyed similar success at Triple-A Round Rock in 2024 as well as he posted a .277/.370/.469 line with 33 doubles and 20 round-trippers. Fantasy managers in AL-only formats should monitor his status as he could carve out a role in Texas.

Fri May 200:17Blaine Crim To Be Called Up For Major-League Debut
Texas Rangers firstbase prospect Blaine Crim is being called up from Triple-A Round Rock for his major league debut. Crim was the PCL Player of the Week earlier this season and is slashing .313/.365/.565 with seven home runs and 25 RBI. The seven home runs are tied for the league lead, and the RBIs are the sixth-most in the PCL. In 2023 and 2024 at Triple-A, theformer 19th-round draft pick has slashed .283/.378/.487 with 42 home runs, a 17.8 percent strikeout rate, and a 12.1 percent walk rate over 267 games. The 5-foot-10 slugger has also been durable, playingin at least 132 minor league games in three consecutive seasons. His first test will be a hard one, though, as the Rangers take on the Mariners' Bryan Woo, who owns a 3.09 ERA and 0.97 WHIP on the season, but worse in his road starts (4.26 ERA). Crim is probably left to the waiver wire in redraft leagues as his stay could be a short one, but he'll certainly be a cheap DFS play who could surprise with a home run.

Tue Apr 800:14Blaine Crim Starts Out Hot, Named PCL Player Of The Week
Texas Rangers first base prospect Blaine Crim is your Triple-A hits leader through the first two weeks of the season, collecting 17 of them thus far and batting .459 through nine games. The right-handed slugger isn't just slapping singles either, now with five doubles, a triple, and a home run to go along with nine RBI, seven runs scored, and a 5:7 BB:K. His performance over the last week even earned him PCL Player of the Week honors. A 2019 draft pick, Crim has spent the last two full seasons at Triple-A, where he's acquitted himself well, slashing .283/.378/.487 with 42 home runs, a 17.8 percent strikeout rate, and a 12.1 percent walk rate. With the numbers he's put up at Triple-A, it seems there's nothing left to prove, andhopefully 2025 is the year he finally gets the call. The 27-year-old is currently blocked at first by offseason acquisition Jake Burger, but perhaps he can work his way into some at-bats as designated hitter, especially given how poorly veteran Joc Pederson has begun the year.
