Wed Jun 25 | 00:52 | Calvin Faucher Earns Eighth Save Of Season Tuesday |
Miami Marlins relief pitcher Calvin Faucher notched his eighth save of the season in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Giants. Faucher came in to pitch the bottom of the ninth inning up by two. He allowed a leadoff walk, got the first out on a strikeout, and ended the game on a ground-ball double play. The 29-year-old entered the season with some fantasy buzz. He hasn't quite lived up to expectations, but he has now converted eight of 11 save opportunities and has converted all four of his save opportunities in the last couple of weeks. He owns a 3.45 ERA, a 1.26 WHIP, and an 8.16 K/9 rate in 28 2/3 innings of work. Faucher may not receive many save opportunities given the team he plays for, but he has finally seemed to have settled into the closer's role, making him worth considering in deep roto leagues. |

Sat Jun 14 | 02:27 | Calvin Faucher Earns Save on Friday |
Miami Marlins relief pitcher Calvin Faucher worked a scoreless ninth inning to earn his sixth save in an 11-9 win over the Washington Nationals on Friday. Faucher allowed just a single and struck out one in his inning of work. The 29-year-old is now 6-for-9 in save opportunities and has a 4.01 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and 23 strikeouts in 24 IP. Outside of a collapse of epic proportions against the Chicago Cubs in May, Faucher has actually had a pretty solid season. He has been the go-to guy for the Marlins over the past three weeks, and it seems like he will be the top choice for saves moving forward in Miami. That isn't to say the Marlins couldn't switch it up on us, which they have already done this year. It also should be noted that even as the Marlins' primary save source, Faucher wouldn't be must-roster outside of deeper fantasy formats. |

Sun Jun 1 | 08:23 | Calvin Faucher Earns Save on Saturday |
Miami Marlins relief pitcher Calvin Faucher was tasked with taking the mound with a one-run lead in the ninth inning on Saturday. Faucher didn't have too many issues in this one as he worked around a two-out single to record his fourth save of the season. The Marlins have been going closer by committee lately, which has been a headache for fantasy managers. Faucher isn't a great option given he has blown three chances and converted only four saves. The right-hander could be worth a look in deep leagues or NL-only formats, but probably not much more value outside of that. |

Wed Feb 5 | 16:35 | Calvin Faucher The Favorite To Be Marlins Closer? |
The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson writes that Miami Marlins right-hander Calvin Faucher could be the favorite to close games to open the 2025 season, although right-hander Jesus Tinoco could also be in the mix. Neither pitcher should be very high on fantasy managers' radars during draft season when scrounging for saves. The 29-year-old Faucher closed out last year with a shoulder injury but went 6-for-8 in his save opportunities and finished with a 3.19 ERA and 63 strikeouts in 53 2/3 innings. It was Tinoco who closed out the final month of the season as Miami's preferred option for saves, and he went 3-for-4 in those opportunities. Faucher sported an untidy 11.1% walk rate but did strike out hitters 26.8% of the time. Fantasy managers that are desperate for saves in deeper leagues should target Faucher before Tinoco. |

Sat Sep 7 2024 | 16:10 | Calvin Faucher Hits 15-Day Injured List |
Miami Marlins relief pitcher Calvin Faucher (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list on Saturday with a right-shoulder impingement. The 28-year-old will now be sidelined for at least the next two weeks and may not have many opportunities to pitch this season. Faucher has been a strong piece in the Miami bullpen, holding a strong 2.08 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, and a 5:19 BB:K ratio with six saves in his past 13 innings. 29-year-old Anthony Bender was also activated off the IL on Saturday and should now be one of the front runners to see save opportunities down the stretch. Fantasy managers in need of saves should pay close attention to who gets the first ninth-inning opportunity over the weekend while Faucher remains sidelined. |

Wed Aug 28 2024 | 01:07 | Calvin Faucher Records Fourth Save |
Miami Marlins relief pitcher Calvin Faucher recorded the save in Tuesday's 9-8 win against the Colorado Rockies. Faucher came into the game and had a perfect ninth inning, allowing no baserunners and striking out the side. This marks Faucher's fourth save of the season (in five opportunities). Coming out of the Marlins' bullpen, Faucher has been used in multiple roles and has been quite effective overall. In 49 games (49 2/3 IP), he has a 3.44 ERA, a 1.45 WHIP, and 56 strikeouts. Faucher is available in 85% of Yahoo! leagues, so he may be worth adding if you need saves down the stretch. |

Mon Aug 19 2024 | 00:44 | Calvin Faucher Grabs Third Save |
Miami Marlins reliever Calvin Faucher collected his third save of the season on Sunday, shutting down the New York Mets to preserve a 3-2 win. Faucher allowed a pair of hits but was able to strike out two and prevent the Mets from scoring. With Tanner Scott and AJ Puk sent to contenders at the trade deadline, it appears Faucher is the de facto closer for the Marlins. He has three saves in August and has been used in every conventional save situation the Marlins have had. He should be rostered in deeper leagues that count saves and can be looked at as a desperation option in standard leagues. |

Fri Nov 17 2023 | 22:45 | Marlins Acquire Vidal Brujan, Calvin Faucher From Rays |
The Miami Marlins acquired infielder/outfielder Vidal Brujan and right-hander Calvin Faucher (biceps) from the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday in exchange for infielder Erick Lara, right-hander Andrew Lindsey and a player to be named later or cash considerations. Brujan, a 25-year-old Dominican switch-hitter, really struggled offensively in his three seasons with the Rays, slashing .157/.218/.221 with three home runs, 24 RBI and nine stolen bases in 99 games played. He'll bring mostly defensive versatility to the Marlins and will likely start 2024 in the minors. Faucher, 28, finished the season on the 60-day injured list and had a rough 7.01 ERA and 1.67 WHIP with 12 walks and 25 strikeouts in 25 2/3 innings over four outings (three starts) for Tampa this year. |

Tue Jun 27 2023 | 12:04 | Calvin Faucher Begins Rehab Assignment |
Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Calvin Faucher (elbow) last pitched on June 5 in Boston, but he continued to feel soreness in his lower right-triceps muscle. An MRI exam showed inflammation, so he received an injection and was temporarily shut down from throwing. Faucher tossed an inning of live batting practice on June 23 and said he "felt really good." He was scheduled to appear in a minor-league rehab game with the Rookie-level Florida Complex League on Monday, followed by more rehab work with Triple-A Durham. The 27-year-old could be getting close to a return to Tampa's bullpen if he can avoid any setbacks. Faucher has made 13 appearances (four starts) and has allowed 11 runs on 19 hits while walking 11 and striking out 16 in 19 innings pitched in 2023. |
