Sun Aug 1712:52Cody Freeman Called Up and Starting for Rangers on Sunday
The Texas Rangers recalled infield/outfield prospect Cody Freeman from Triple-A Round Rock on Sunday, and he will start at third base and bat eighth in the series finale against the hosting Toronto Blue Jays and right-hander Jose Berrios. Freeman will get the nod at the hot corner with Josh Jung taking a day off, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to receive everyday playing time moving forward. The 24-year-old right-handed hitter and former fourth-rounder in 2019 will be playing in just his fifth major-league game. In four games earlier this season, he had a double and RBI with two strikeouts in seven plate appearances. Freeman has slashed an impressive .336/.382/.549 with 19 home runs, 71 RBI and eight steals in 97 games at Round Rock this year in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. He's ranked by MLB Pipeline as Texas' No. 24 prospect.

Mon Jul 2807:17Cody Freeman Launches Three Home Runs on Sunday
Texas Rangers third base prospect Cody Freeman enjoyed a monster game at the plate on Sunday. Facing Triple-A Tacoma, Freeman went 3-for-5 with three long balls and four RBI. Freeman was recently given his first taste of the major league. During a brief seven-game stint, the 24-year-old posted a low .143/.143/.286 slash line with one double. However, with Triple-A Round Rock, Freeman has been quite productive and could be in the mix to earn a call back to the majors in the near future. Through 81 games at the top level of the Texas system this season, Freeman has posted a .317/.367/.519 slash line with 20 doubles, 15 home runs, and eight stolen bases. For the time being, fantasy managers should leave him on the waiver wire. However, if he were to earn a promotion, he could be worth a look in deeper formats.

Wed Apr 209:36Cody Freeman Goes Deep Twice On Tuesday
Texas Rangers third base prospect Cody Freeman went 3-for-3 with two home runs during their victory over Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday evening. During this contest, Freeman tallied four RBI. Through his first four contests of the regular season, Freeman tallied at least one hit in all but one contest and tallied five total RBI. Last season, the 24-year-old spent his entire campaign at the Double-A level. Across 123 contests with Double-A Frisco, Freeman held a strong .264/.320/.432 slash line with 33 doubles and 14 round-trippers. He swiped 15 bags and held a 37:94 BB:K. Freeman has yet to reach the major leagues and could be a name to monitor if he continues to produce at the Triple-A level. However, he may need to spend the first few months of the season at the top level of the minor leagues before being in contention for an MLB debut.
