Sun May 1113:51Freddy Fermin Not In Sunday's Lineup
Kansas City Royals catcher Freddy Fermin is not in the starting lineup on Sunday when the Royals conclude a series against the Boston Red Sox. Fermin has been in the lineup in each of the past three games. During this stretch, Fermin went 2-for-13 with three strikeouts. Fantasy managers should expect the 29-year-old to return to the starting lineup on Monday when they begin a series against the Houston Astros. Through 26 games this season, Fermin has held a .247/.284/.299 slash line with one double and one round-tripper. This afternoon, Luke Maile will enter the starting nine and will be behind the dish. Maile has appeared in just two games this season and should not be targeted in any DFS competitions this afternoon.

Mon Sep 9 202418:50Freddy Fermin Resting On Monday
Kansas City Royals catcher Freddy Fermin is out of the starting lineup ahead of Monday's game against the New York Yankees. This appears to be a routine rest day for Fermin after he caught both games over the weekend. Fermin has been nice surprise to the Royals lineup this season. He's hitting .290 with six home runs and 36 RBI in 99 games this season. In his absence, Salvador Perez will do the catching while Yuli Gurriel covers first base versus left-hander Carlos Rodon. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups ahead of first pitch.

Fri Jun 21 202401:24Freddy Fermin Nails Two Homers Thursday
Kansas City Royals catcher Freddy Fermin had a huge day on Thursday, going 3-for-4 with a pair of solo homers in a 3-2 win over the Oakland Athletics. Fermin had Mitch Spence's number in this one, tagging him for homers in the second and fourth innings. The 29-year-old is actually putting together a pretty solid season, slashing .303/.352/.447 with four homers in 132 at-bats. The Royals have also been playing Fermin more lately, even opting to DH him today. If he can get consistent playing time he could be worth a look in two catcher leagues.

Wed May 3 202312:28Freddy Fermin Back With Royals As Backup Catcher
The Kansas City Royals recalled catcher Freddy Fermin from Triple-A Omaha before Tuesday's game. With the Royals using MJ Melendez exclusively in the outfield, Fermin is now back in Kansas City to serve as Salvador Perez's backup. Perez also injured his finger in Tuesday's game, forcing Fermin into the contest in the eighth inning. Perez's injury isn't serious, but there's a good chance Fermin will get the starting nod on Wednesday against the Baltimore Orioles and right-hander Kyle Gibson. Fermin, 27, won't have much fantasy appeal unless Perez ends up missing extended time with his finger injury. Fermin has only played in seven total MLB games the last two years, going 1-for-14 at the plate with no walks and five strikeouts.

Mon Aug 29 202221:48Freddy Fermin Boasts Power At Triple-A
Kansas City Royals catcher Freddy Fermin is a 27-year-old who didn't make his MLB debut until this season. Signed out of Venezuela back in 2015, Fermin spent one series with the big-league club in July but has otherwise suited up behind the dish for the organization's Triple-A affiliate in Omaha. Not only has his power improved in 2022, but he boasts impressive walk and strikeout rates. This past week treated Fermin quite nicely. Over the course of six games, he went 7-for-19 with a whopping five home runs and 12 RBI. He remained quite disciplined, drawing five walks while striking out just three times in the process. Undeniably, he could have some fantasy relevance in the majors if he's able to keep up his impressive offensive output.
