Wed Apr 3015:22Griffin Conine Expected To Miss Rest Of The Season
Miami Marlins outfielder Griffin Conine (shoulder) is expected to miss the rest of the 2025 season after undergoing left-shoulder surgery in Los Angeles on Tuesday, according to the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson. The good news is that Conine will be ready for the start of spring training next year. The 27-year-old dislocated his left shoulder earlier in April while sliding into second base and will now miss the rest of the campaign after starting off the year hot with a .281 average (18-for-64) with a home run, seven RBI and 10 runs scored in 20 games played. He has now slashed .274/.338/.445 with an above-average .783 OPS, four homers and 19 RBI the last two years for the Fish in just 50 games. If he's fully healthy to begin next season, he should be a lineup regular for the Marlins in 2026. Jesus Sanchez and Kyle Stowers have been manning right field for Miami since Conine went down.

Sat Apr 2600:49Griffin Conine To Have Shoulder Surgery On Tuesday
The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson reports that Miami Marlins outfielder Griffin Conine (shoulder) will have surgery on his left shoulder on Tuesday. He will meet with noted Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Monday in Los Angeles, and it will become clearer at that point whether Conine will have a chance to play again in 2025. The 27-year-old suffered a dislocated shoulder on Easter Sunday and was placed on the 60-day injured list shortly after that, so we already knew this was a pretty serious injury. Still, fantasy managers in deep single-year leagues might be dropping him outright. It's a shame for Conine, too, as he started the 2025 season hot offensively with a .281/.352/.438 slash line with a .790 OPS, a homer, seven RBI and 10 runs scored. Since Conine's injury, the Marlins have used Javier Sanoja, Kyle Stowers, Ronny Simon and Eric Wagaman in left field. Stowers, a former top O's prospect, is the most intriguing of the bunch in fantasy.

Sun Apr 2011:50Griffin Conine Placed On 60-Day Injured List
The Miami Marlins have placed outfielder Griffin Conine (shoulder) on the 60-day injured list due to a dislocated left shoulder. Conine suffered this injury when sliding into second base during Saturday's contest. The 27-year-old was swinging a hot bat during the early part of the campaign as he held an impressive .281/.352/.438 slash line. He went deep once and added seven doubles, which are the seventh most in the National League. Under the hood, the Duke product generated a strong 15.6 percent barrel rate and a 51.1 percent hard-hit rate, which placed him in the 83rd and 81st percentiles, respectively. Fantasy managers in deeper NL-only formats should consider stashing Conine on their IR if they have room, as he will continue to have an everyday role in the Miami lineup when he returns to action. With Conine sidelined, Jesus Sanchez should see time in left field, which will open up the DH spot for Eric Wagman or Graham Pauley.

Sat Apr 1921:14Griffin Conine Suffers Dislocated Shoulder
Miami Marlins outfielder Griffin Conine (shoulder) exited early during Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Conine dislocated his left shoulder while sliding into second base. He was removed from the contest and Javier Sanoja took over in left field. The team has announced Conine suffered a dislocated left shoulder which almost certainly means he's headed to the injured list. The 27-year-old has been a decent bat for the Marlins this season. The expectation is that Sanoja and Dane Myers would see more playing time if Conine lands on the injured list.

Fri Apr 1116:24Griffin Conine, Matt Mervis Sitting Against Lefty
Miami Marlins outfielder Griffin Conine and first baseman Matt Mervis are both out of the starting lineup for Friday's series opener against the division-rival Washington Commanders at loanDepot Park with left-hander Mitchell Parker on the mound. Javier Sanoja is starting in left field and is hitting eighth, while Eric Wagaman is serving as the designated hitter and is batting cleanup against Parker. These moves won't register in most fantasy leagues. Conine has started his second year in the big leagues hitting .237 (9-for-38) with a homer, double and an RBI in 12 games played. Mervis, meanwhile has displayed some power (three homers, seven RBI) in 29 at-bats for those in deep NL-only leagues. Sanoja is still searching for his first career homer in his 23rd game, while Wagaman should be considered one of the weakest cleanup hitters on Friday's slate of action.

Thu Feb 608:15Kyle Stowers, Griffin Conine Competing For Left Field Job
According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Miami Marlins outfielder Kyle Stowers and Griffin Conine will compete for the left-field job during spring training. Jackson noted that the team is hopeful Stowers can "recapture some of the promise he showed with the Orioles." Before being traded to Miami, the outfielder held a strong .306 AVG. However, once he joined the Marlins, Stowers saw his AVG drop to .186 and held a poor .262 OBP. He also hit just two home runs across 50 games. Despite the drop in production, Stowers still generated a 51.3 percent hard-hit rate, which is a positive sign. Conine made his MLB debut last season and had a .268/.326/.451 line across 30 contests. He tallied four doubles and three home runs with 12 RBI. Both outfielders will only have value in deeper formats as they have yet to have much extended success at the MLB level.

Thu Sep 26 202416:55Griffin Conine Out Against Twins
Miami Marlins rookie outfielder Griffin Conine is on the bench to start Thursday's contest against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field. The Marlins are playing youngsters down the stretch in a lost season, but Conine has seen sporadic playing time in the outfield. The 27-year-old has had 67 at-bats over his first 26 big-league games and has gone 16-for-67 (.239) with two home runs, three doubles, a triple, six RBI, six walks and 24 strikeouts in 74 plate appearances. Derek Hill is starting in center field and batting seventh, and Jesus Sanchez is in right field and batting cleanup for the Fish against Twins right-hander David Festa. In his last five games, Conine has begun to heat up, going 4-for-13 with a homer, double, two RBI, a walk and a run scored.

Thu Sep 12 202416:15Griffin Conine Out Again Versus Lefty
For the second straight day, Miami Marlins rookie outfielder Griffin Conine will start on the bench on Wednesday against the Washington Nationals and left-hander Mitchell Parker at Nationals Park. Kyle Stowers is starting in left field for the Fish and is batting sixth against Parker. Conine, the son of former big-leaguer Jeff Conine, bats from the left side and is currently in a platoon in the Miami outfielder after being called up from the minors recently. In his first 44 big-league at-bats, the 27-year-old has 11 hits (.250 average) with a home run, four RBI and eight runs scored in 15 games played. Conine was a former second-round pick by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2018 out of Duke and hit .268/.350/.475 with an .825 OPS, 19 home runs and 68 RBI with Triple-A Jacksonville before his promotion to the Marlins. Miami is giving plenty of youngsters some run down the stretch in another lost season.
