Sat Jun 14 | 12:31 | White Sox Bringing Up Ryan Noda |
The Chicago White Sox announced on Saturday that they recalled first baseman Ryan Noda from Triple-A Charlotte and optioned first baseman Tim Elko to Charlotte in a corresponding move. The White Sox claimed Noda off waivers on Friday from the Boston Red Sox. Noda will immediately enter the starting lineup on Saturday against the Texas Rangers and right-hander Jacob deGrom, as he's starting at first base and batting seventh. This will be his first big-league start of 2025 after hitting a combined .204/.404/.375 with seven home runs, 21 RBI, 27 runs and four steals in 51 games at Triple-A Salt Lake (Angels) and Triple-A Worcester (Red Sox). The 29-year-old left-handed hitter could get plenty of run at first base against righties now that Elko is in the minors and Andrew Vaughn is with Milwaukee. Noda hit 16 bombs in 128 games in his rookie year in 2023 with the A's, but he's hit just .212 with 91 punchouts in 164 games over his two seasons in the big leagues. |

Thu May 22 | 18:15 | Red Sox Acquire Ryan Noda From Angels |
The Boston Red Sox acquired first baseman Ryan Noda from the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday in exchange for cash considerations. The move comes after Noda had been designated for assignment by the Angels with the Red Sox still looking for other options at first base following Triston Casas' (knee) season-ending injury. After acquiring the 29-year-old from the Angels, Boston optioned Noda to Triple-A Worcester. While Noda gives the BoSox a bit more depth at the position the rest of the year, he's still likely a long shot to end up seeing regular at-bats in the big leagues in 2025. The former 15th-round pick by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2017 out of Cincinnati has yet to play in the majors this year and has a .212/.344/.369 slash line with 17 homers and 58 RBI in two years with the A's in 2023-24. |

Thu Mar 27 | 07:53 | Ryan Noda Optioned To Triple-A |
The Los Angeles Angels have optioned first baseman Ryan Noda to Triple-A Salt Lake. Noda was claimed by the Angels earlier in the offseason but was unable to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster. During spring training, Noda hit just one long ball and posted a .182/.449/.364 slash line with a 15:18 BB:K. Noda has spent his entire MLB career with the Athletics. He made his MLB debut during the 2023 season and posted a .229/.364/.406 line across 128 contests. However, in 2024, Noda took a step back as he posted a .137/.255/.211 slash line with just one long ball across 36 contests. In 240 career games at Triple-A, Noda has posted a .246/.398/.488 slash line. Fantasy managers should monitor his status at Triple-A, as he should be in contention to return to the majors later in the summer. |

Sat Nov 2 2024 | 10:15 | Ryan Noda Claimed By The Angels |
Oakland Athletics first baseman Ryan Noda was claimed by the Los Angeles Angels off waivers. Noda had a disappointing 2024 campaign as he hit for a .137/.255/.211 line with just one home run, four RBI, and a 14:37 BB:K ratio across 36 games. This was a sharp decline from the encouraging .229/.364/.406 line he hit in his debut season in 2023. At Triple-A Las Vegas last season, Noda posted a .224/.391/.486 slash line. Fantasy managers should expect the 28-year-old to compete for a spot on the Opening Day in Los Angeles but is best to leave off your fantasy radar given his inconsistencies last summer. |

Thu Sep 12 2024 | 12:18 | Seth Brown, Max Schuemann, Ryan Noda On The Bench |
Oakland Athletics outfielder Seth Brown, infielder Max Schuemann and first baseman Ryan Noda are all out of the starting lineup for Thursday's series finale against the division-rival Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. Daz Cameron is starting in left field and is batting eighth, Nick Allen is at the hot corner and is hitting ninth, and Tyler Nevin will man first base and hit seventh against Astros left-hander Framber Valdez. Allen has the best numbers in his career against Valdez, hitting .385 against him with an .852 OPS and an RBI in 13 at-bats, but none of Cameron, Allen or Nevin are particularly attractive DFS sleepers in this matchup on the road. Brown and Noda, who was recently called up from the minors, both hit from the left side, so it's no surprise why they are on the bench on Thursday against a tough southpaw. |

Tue Aug 20 2024 | 16:16 | Ryan Noda Swinging A Hot Bat Through August |
Oakland Athletics first baseman Ryan Noda has been swinging a hot bat through August at Triple-A Las Vegas and could be a candidate to return to the majors down the stretch. Since August 1, the 28-year-old boasts a stellar .354/.466/.875 line with seven doubles, six home runs, and 13 RBI. This is an excellent sign as Noda held an underwhelming .143/.337/.271 line through July. Noda spent most of 2023 in the big leagues but struggled through the early part of this season, which resulted in his demotion. Noda has shown upside for power all summer at Triple-A with a .517 SLG, 19 doubles, and 20 round-trippers but has yet to show it at the majors as he holds a cumulative .370 SLG across 492 ABs. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor Noda's performance at Triple-A Las Vegas, as he could be a late-season upside target for power. |

Sat Apr 13 2024 | 14:18 | Ryan Noda Sitting Against Southpaw |
Oakland Athletics first baseman Ryan Noda will be sitting on the bench Saturday as left-handed pitcher MacKenzie Gore will be the opposing pitcher. Noda has yet to make a start against a southpaw this season, and today, this trend continues. Noda has struggled during the first two weeks as he is sporting a .179/.273/.205 stat line with 16 strikeouts. Veteran J.D. Davis will man first base today and comes into Saturday's game with two home runs and three doubles. Davis is worth considering in DFS today as he faces Gore, who has a 4.09 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in his first two starts. |

Thu Apr 11 2024 | 12:19 | Ryan Noda Back In Action Against Texas |
Oakland Athletics first baseman Ryan Noda (hand) is back in action on Thursday against the Texas Rangers, serving as the team's designated hitter and batting sixth against Rangers right-hander Jon Gray. Tyler Nevin is at first base and hitting fifth in the batting order. Noda hurt his left hand during batting practice before Tuesday's contest and sat out the previous two games as a result, but the 28-year-old was just dealing with a contusion and will return to the lineup for the series finale against Texas. The former 15th-round selection by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2017 out of Cincinnati is still searching for his first home run and has gone 7-for-33 (.212) with one RBI and 12 strikeouts in the first 10 games. He's hitting .200 in five career at-bats against Gray |

Wed Apr 10 2024 | 18:28 | Ryan Noda Remains Out On Wednesday |
Oakland Athletics first baseman Ryan Noda (hand) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Texas Rangers. The left-handed slugger was scratched ahead of Tuesday's game due to a hand issue. In his absence, J.D. Davis will cover first base and bat third versus left-hander Cody Bradford. Davis doesn't offer great fantasy value given the lack of talent around him. |

Sat Mar 30 2024 | 13:32 | Ryan Noda Back In The Lineup Saturday |
Oakland A's first baseman Ryan Noda is back in the starting lineup and will hit leadoff on Saturday versus the Cleveland Guardians and right-hander Tanner Bibee. Noda had a tough Opening Day on Thursday with a pair of strikeouts in three hitless trips to the plate and got the night off on Friday with a lefty on the mound in Logan Allen. The 28-year-old enjoyed a fruitful rookie season that saw him club 16 homers alongside a healthy 15.6% BB% in 128 appearances, helping him to a quality .770 OPS. However, he also punched out in a hefty 34.3% of his plate appearances. While he sat against a lefty on Friday, Noda posted a .753 OPS against same-handed pitching last season as fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on his platoon trend moving forward. |
