Fri May 30 | 14:06 | Dane Myers Set to Return on Friday |
Miami Marlins outfielder Dane Myers (oblique) is set to be activated from the 10-day injured list on Friday before the series opener against the visiting San Francisco Giants, according to the New York Post's Jon Heyman. Myers will rejoin the big-league roster after landing on the IL on May 12 with a strained oblique. The 29-year-old only played in one minor-league rehab game for Triple-A Jacksonville and will now return to regular duties in center field for Miami. Fantasy managers will be hoping that his oblique injury won't interrupt what has been a strong season for the former sixth-rounder of the Detroit Tigers in 2017 out of Rice before his injury. In 83 at-bats prior to landing on the shelf, Myers was slashing .337/.375/.482 with an .857 OPS, three home runs, 14 RBI, 12 runs and seven stolen bases. |

Mon May 26 | 22:56 | Dane Myers to Begin Rehab Assignment on Tuesday |
Miami Marlins outfielder Dane Myers (oblique) will begin his minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Jacksonville on Tuesday, according to MLB.com's Christina De Nicola. Myers has been on the 10-day injured list since May 12 with a strained right oblique, but his return doesn't appear to be far off now that he's starting a rehab assignment this week. The Fish called up outfield prospect Victor Mesa Jr. on Monday, and he could see action in center field with both Myers and Derek Hill (wrist) on the shelf. But it might be a short stay in the big leagues for Mesa with Myers nearing a return. The 29-year-old sixth-rounder by the Detroit Tigers in 2017 out of Rice was hitting a strong .337 (28-for-83) as the team's primary center fielder before his injury, adding three home runs, 14 RBI, 12 runs scored and seven stolen bases. Myers could be back with Miami by this weekend against the San Francisco Giants. |

Mon May 12 | 18:20 | Dane Myers Lands On 10-Day Injured List With Oblique Strain |
The Miami Marlins announced on Monday that they placed outfielder Dane Myers (oblique) on the 10-day injured list (retroactive to May 11) with a right-oblique strain and reinstated outfielder Derek Hill (wrist) from the 10-day IL in a corresponding move. With Myers now on the shelf, Hill will immediately start in center field and bat seventh on Monday in the series opener against the Chicago Cubs and right-hander Colin Rea at Wrigley Field. The 29-year-old Myers deserves to be stashed in deep fantasy leagues where he was rostered, as he was slashing a strong .337/.375/.482 with an .857 OPS in 83 at-bats as the team's starting center fielder. Hill is now worth a look in the short term in those same formats now that he's likely to see most of the starts in center field over at least the next 10 days. Hill has gone just 7-for-42 (.167) with a homer, three RBI and three steals, so don't expect similar production. |

Sun May 11 | 13:08 | Dane Myers Not In Sunday's Lineup |
Miami Marlins outfielder Dane Myers is not in Sunday's lineup when the Marlins conclude a series against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday afternoon. Myers has been in the starting nine in each of the past eight games. During this stretch, the 29-year-old has been swinging a hot bat, posting a strong .308/.379/.462 slash line with one double, one home run, and four stolen bases. Through 29 games this season, the 29-year-old has posted an impressive .337/.375/.482 slash line with three round-trippers and seven stolen bases. Under the hood, he has generated an elite .397 xwOBA and a .343 xBA, which are both well above the average of the marks. This afternoon, Kyle Stowers will shift to center field and bat in the five-hole. Stowers is worth a look in DFS facing Sean Burke, as he enters this game with a 4.35 ERA. |

Tue Apr 29 | 05:44 | Dane Myers Hits Grand Slam On Monday |
Miami Marlins outfielder Dane Myers had a huge game in a 7-6 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers in 10 innings on Monday. Myers, who pinch-hit in the sixth inning, wound up going 2-for-2 with a grand slam, but it wasn't enough to top the Dodgers in extra innings. The big night gives Myers a .315 average, to go along with two homers, eight runs, nine RBI, and two steals across 54 at-bats. Myers has not been an everyday player for the Marlins but he will hope to earn a bit more playing time after Monday's game. |

Wed Feb 5 | 19:56 | Dane Myers, Derek Hill Competing For Center Field Job |
According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, Miami Marlins outfielder Dane Myers and Derek Hill are set to compete for the starting center field job during spring training. Jackson also noted that Victor Mesa Jr. could also be in the mix. Last season, Myers held a .263/.333/.442 line with six doubles and two home runs across 44 games in the majors. He generated a strong 47.5 percent hard-hit and 11.5 percent barrel rates. However, he held a hefty 33.3 percent strikeout rate. Hill spent time with the Rangers and Giants before moving to Miami to end his campaign. He posted a .234/.259/.402 line with seven home runs and six stolen bases. He showed elite speed as he placed in the 95th percentile but held an underwhelming .294 xwOBA. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor their progress during spring training as the eventual starter could have value in deeper NL-only formats. |

Sat Sep 28 2024 | 18:53 | Dane Myers Blasts Homer En Route To Five RBI Day |
Miami Marlins outfielder Dane Myers had a huge day at the plate on Saturday, recording two hits and mashing a three-run homer in the Marlins' 8-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Myers added on a two-run double along with his three-run homer to give him five RBI on the day. The 28-year-old spent the first half of the season in the majors with Miami but has spent most of the season recovering from an ankle injury he sustained after kicking a door in anger in July. Saturday marked his third game back and easily his best day at the plate in terms of RBI. His OPS increased to .788 on the season, an improvement over his .644 OPS in 2023. Fantasy managers in dynasty leagues may want to keep an eye on Myers going forward, though he'll likely only have value in deeper leagues. |

Wed Sep 4 2024 | 15:33 | Dane Myers Starts Baseball Activities |
Miami Marlins outfielder Dane Myers (ankle) is running, hitting and doing defensive work at the team's spring training complex in Jupiter, Fla., after he was moved to the 60-day injured list on Aug. 25. Myers suffered a fractured ankle on July 13 when he kicked a door in the clubhouse after being ejected from the game. After returning to the team on July 14, Myers visited with a foot specialist and was placed in a walking boot. Before the 28-year-old started his baseball activities, he was just working out and running on an anti-gravity treadmill. It's good news that he has resumed baseball activities, but with time running out in the 2024 regular season, Myers might be a long shot to return before the end of September. In 83 at-bats before his ankle injury, he was hitting .265/.337/.422 with a decent .759 OPS with only two homers, 14 RBI and four stolen bases. |

Fri Jul 19 2024 | 08:44 | Dane Myers Placed On 10-Day Injured List |
The Miami Marlins have placed outfielder Dane Myers (ankle) on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to July 15 with a left ankle fracture. The outfielder was producing solid numbers in limited action this season with a .265 batting average to go along with 2 homers, 14 RBI and four stolen bases in 83 at-bats and would have been in line for some extended play with the Marlins being sellers at the upcoming trade deadline. The injury will likely sideline Myers for a good chunk of the second half and he can safely remain on the waiver wire. No corresponding move has been made to replace Myers on the active roster as of now. |

Fri May 3 2024 | 18:59 | Dane Myers Moves Into Cleanup Spot |
Miami Marlins outfielder Dane Myers has been hitting the cover off the ball since being called up. The 28-year-old is 5-for-11 with five RBI and a stolen base during his limited action with the team. Given the Marlins woes on offense, manager Skip Schumaker has moved Myers up in the batting order. He'll bat cleanup and serve as the right fielder during Friday's game against the Oakland Athletics. Fantasy managers in deep leagues should keep an eye on Myers going forward. |
